# AI Chatbot Course: What It Should Teach You

> AI chatbot course: what it should teach, how to train your own chatbot with your data, or have MAGIA Solo build one that answers on WhatsApp in 15 days.

What should an AI chatbot course teach you? It should leave you with a bot that answers real people with your own information, not a folder of videos you watched once. A good course covers three parts and shows you how to train your own chatbot on your business information, or MAGIA Solo hands you one already running in 15 days.

## A good AI chatbot course teaches the model, the tools and the instructions

OpenAI's "A practical guide to building agents" says an agent (an AI that takes actions for you instead of only replying), in its most fundamental form, has three core components. The model is "the LLM powering the agent's reasoning and decision-making" (an LLM, or large language model, is the type of model Claude is based on). Tools are "external functions or APIs the agent can use to take action," meaning connections to other software, and instructions are "explicit guidelines and guardrails defining how the agent behaves."

OpenAI's guide draws a line between a chatbot and an assistant that works for you. Applications that use an LLM without letting it run the workflow, such as simple chatbots, are not agents in OpenAI's definition. So, in our view, what pays off is not a chat window but an assistant on your channels that works for you.

For the instructions, OpenAI recommends you "use existing operating procedures, support scripts, or policy documents," and says clear instructions "reduce ambiguity and improve agent decision-making." For that reason, the part of any chatbot development course that pays off is working from your own business documents, not from a classroom example.

## To train your own chatbot, you give it your information instead of retraining the model

"Train your own chatbot" sounds like retraining the AI, and retraining has its own name: fine-tuning. Anthropic's glossary defines fine-tuning as "the process of further training a pretrained language model using additional data," and says, as of our October 28, 2026 check, that the Claude API (the connection other software uses to talk to Claude) does not currently offer it, although interested customers can ask their Anthropic contact.

In practice you shape what the bot can see: Anthropic describes retrieval augmented generation (RAG) as a technique in which the model "is augmented with an external knowledge base or a set of documents that is passed into the context window," its working memory, so it can use information beyond its training data. Anthropic's glossary adds that its effectiveness "depends on the quality and relevance of the external knowledge base and the knowledge that is retrieved at runtime." Since RAG depends on the quality of the information it retrieves, MAGIA Solo starts by collecting your real information: your services, your prices and how you answer today.

The other half of training your own chatbot is writing its instructions. Anthropic's guide to writing instructions for Claude says "setting a role in the system prompt focuses Claude's behavior and tone for your use case" (the system prompt is the set of base instructions you give the model), and it recommends 3 to 5 examples to steer format, tone and structure. To see how a model turns your information and instructions into an answer, read [how AI makes decisions, explained simply](/blog/how-does-an-ai-make-decisions-explained-simply).

## MAGIA Solo builds your chatbot and has it running in 15 days

MAGIA Solo is Catalizadora's package for professionals and small businesses, such as doctors, lawyers, coaches, studios and clinics. In 15 days Catalizadora hands you a system that answers, books and gets you paid.

The MAGIA Solo assistant handles WhatsApp day and night with your voice and your prices, and it learns from your real information. The assistant offers your slots, books them and sends the reminder, and it shares a payment link right in the chat. You don't need to be technical, because Catalizadora delivers the system running, with three training sessions and a simple manual.

The assistant works on the same principle a good chatbot course teaches: your information and clear limits. Catalizadora sets the assistant up to stay within what it knows about your business and not invent prices or promise things you don't offer, and when a query gets sensitive or falls outside its scope, the assistant hands it to you instead of improvising. During the 6 months by your side, Catalizadora adjusts any answer you don't like.

With MAGIA Solo, code, data, domain, accounts and even the access keys are in your name from day one. MAGIA Solo is a one-time payment of 4,500 USD, and monthly operations (keeping the system online and the AI that answers) are paid at cost, directly to the providers and in your name. If you want MAGIA Solo to remain hosted and operated by Catalizadora, that requires an active plan, from 99 USD a month.

You don't need to hire anyone or take a course first. You need a system that answers for you, in your voice, around the clock, and MAGIA Solo has it running in 15 days. See everything that is included and how the 15 days work on the [MAGIA Solo page](/en/magia/solo).
## Preguntas frecuentes

### What should an AI chatbot course teach?

An AI chatbot course should cover the three parts that OpenAI's "A practical guide to building agents" names: the model, the tools it uses to act and the instructions that define how it behaves. It should also teach you to give the bot your own information, which Anthropic's glossary describes as retrieval augmented generation (RAG). MAGIA Solo builds a WhatsApp assistant that learns from your real information and has it running in 15 days (catalizadora.ai/en/magia/solo).

### How do I train my own chatbot?

To train your own chatbot, you don't need to retrain the model: you give it your documents and clear instructions. Anthropic's glossary calls the documents part retrieval augmented generation (RAG): your documents go into the model's context window, its working memory. Anthropic's guide to writing instructions adds that giving the bot a role in its base instructions (the system prompt) focuses its behavior and tone.

### Can I have an AI chatbot built instead of building it myself?

Yes, Catalizadora can build it for you. In 15 days MAGIA Solo hands you a system that answers WhatsApp day and night with your voice and your prices, books appointments and shares a payment link in the chat. With MAGIA Solo, code, data, domain and accounts are in your name from day one (catalizadora.ai/en/magia/solo).

### Will an AI chatbot invent prices or promises?

MAGIA Solo's assistant is set up to stay within what it knows about your business and not invent prices or promise things you don't offer. When a query gets sensitive or falls outside its scope, the assistant hands it to you instead of improvising, according to catalizadora.ai/en/magia/solo.
